Riverside Performing Arts is very excited to introduce the Youth Dance Company. The Company is directed by RPA Youth Program Director, Renée Adams (Luna Negra Dance Theater; BodyVox; Spectrum Dance Theater) and is open by audition for dancers 7+ (must be 7 by November 1st). Company dancers will have the opportunity to learn original choreography in a fusion of dance styles that include contemporary (modern), jazz, ballet, hip hop, and tap. Dancers will also collaborate to make their own choreography. See below for more information and requirements.

Performance opportunities will begin
after Thanksgiving of each year and
will be throughout the community at
parks, recreation centers, community
events, and featured alongside the Theater Performing Troupe at RPA’s annual school shows.

Requirements for Company are as follows:

  1. Each dancer must be 7 by November 1st.

  2. Dancers must audition on January 10th at 2:30pm. Please come 15-20 minutes early to fill out paperwork.

  3. Dancers must enroll in at least two RPA dance class during the week. *This is because it is very important to ensure that the dancers are focusing on their technique and training in a formal class, whereas Company rehearsal will be strictly a choreography-based class.

  4. Each dancer and their parent must sign a company contract stating that they will attend all classes and assigned rehearsals unless due to sickness or family emergency.

  5. Female dancers must wear a black leotard, pink tights, ballet or jazz shoes and their hair in a bun to auditions. No skirts or shorts please. Male dancers must wear a white tee-shirt, black dance pants or shorts and ballet or jazz shoes.

Winter auditions are January 10th at  2:30pm
